CONGRATULATIONS TO K·SWISS SKATE PHENOM GREG LUTZKA ON MALOOF MONEY CUP WIN
(Westlake Village, CA) June 7, 2011 – California Sports Company K•Swiss is proud to congratulate professional skateboarder Greg Lutzka on winning the 2011 Maloof Money Cup in New York City this past weekend. Lutzka went head-to-head with the best skaters from across the country, facing a tense final showdown to take the title and $160,000 prize.
This year’s Maloof Money Cup featured a changed format to the finals creating a more intense competition by pitting skaters one-on-one for elimination. Skaters competed through three initial rounds before making the finals. An early contender, Lutzka pulled a number of highly-technical tricks on day one, including his staple frontside 270 noseblunt on the rail, securing him a third place ranking going into the final.
On June 5th, 2011, Lutzka faced the 12 contenders head-to-head through six, three-minute heats. This was the first time at the Maloof Money Cup that each could skate the Flushing Meadows Corona Park in their heats. Lutzka destroyed the course by frontside big spinning down the nine-stair and frontside 270 noseblunting down its rail. Lutzka skated and hit the podium in his K•Swiss KS Nicko VNZ and signature K•Swiss graphic T-shirt.
