My name is Asaad Malik. I’m a fashion blogger and self-made entrepreneur. I started blogging at the age of 16 and then a year later, I started my men’s fashion e-commerce store “Grace For Men”. My blogging has led me to get collaboration opportunities with top brands like Daniel Wellington and now K-Swiss.
I was always obsessed with fashion but I got more inspiration by watching the TV series “Suits”. I loved the way the actors in that show dressed and it made me love formal professional wear. Though when I moved to California, my fashion taste started to change and I begun to prefer street casual wear, compared to formal wear. That doesn’t mean that I don’t like suits and professional wear.
I live around Los Angeles and I attend my college there as well. The thing I love about California is obviously the weather, wonderful people and amazing places to hang out. On my days off/ free time, I ride my bike around the city, I do jogging and sometimes I play soccer with some of my friends. But most importantly, I work on my blog and Instagram posts. My followers on Instagram motivate me to keep on doing what I love.
The fashion bloggers turned actors Mariano Di Vaio and Adam Gallagher inspire me. Both of them got really successful by blogging and now both of them own their own brands that are famous world wide.
Ten years from now, I see myself working in a fashion or tech based company as well as owning several businesses. But you never know, I might go towards Hollywood if things turn out unexpected.
What I like about my K-Swiss sneakers is that they are simple and have a minimalistic design. The most amazing thing is that they look good with almost all my outfits. I prefer everything casual, comfy and classy. I love urban street outfits and I usually go with the darker shades. I also like all black outfits.
I feel great about the message of K-Swiss because they empower entrepreneurs like me. The thought of working 9-5 for someone for the rest of my life makes me want to work harder. Working for someone isn’t completely disadvantageous but being your own boss is the best.
I always have a lot of great ideas and I like to think outside the box, like many other millennials, and I already have a lot of business plans for the future. I never felt ashamed or shy to take advice from successful people and entrepreneurs because no matter how smart you are, you still need tips and advice from others.
